BEAVERCREEK — Acting on a tip, Beavercreek police on Wednesday arrested a 50-year-old man for breaking into several vehicles and stealing property.
Police said John F. Thompson of Beavercreek was driving a red minivan around the Hunters Ridge neighborhood near Beaver Valley Road.
A caller at 7 a.m. Wednesday said the driver was entering and exiting random driveways. Police stopped Thompson and found several items of stolen property inside the van.
Thompson was arrested and taken to Greene County Jail. He’s been charged with one count of felony receiving stolen property. More theft-related charges are expected when the case is presented to a Greene County grand jury next week.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and that Thompson could be responsible for other unsolved thefts in Beavercreek.
Fairborn Municipal Court and Greene County Common Pleas Court records show a John F. Thompson, 50, of Beavercreek, was charged from 2003 to 2005 with receiving stolen property, assault, OVI and failure to comply with the order of a police officer.
