TIPP CITY — The Independent Voice, a weekly newspaper with a paid circulation of 825, has ceased publication of its print edition.
The last edition was dated July 15.
In a July 22 letter to advertisers, Publisher John Kessler cited the economy, organizations in town “that promoted out of town businesses instead of staying in the area,” and past employee drug problems.
“Trying to get enough advertisers, it was just tough,” Kessler said on Wednesday, July 29.
The newspaper, which currently employs two people, plans to continue updating its Web site, tippvoice.com, “as best we can,” Kessler said.
