GREENVILLE TWP., Darke County — Two men were taken to a hospital Thursday, Oct. 29, after an accident involving a grain cart and a pickup truck, the Darke County Sheriff’s Office said.

The grain cart was being pulled by a John Deere tractor, headed south on U.S. 127 near Kruckeberg Road, when a Chevy pick-up driven by Garry L. Flatter, 60, of Greenville struck a rear tire of the cart about 7:33 p.m.

Flatter’s truck went off the left side of the road and rolled onto its driver side before coming to rest in the median, according to the sheriff’s office.

The tractor was being driven by Dave M. Fourman, 41, of Arcanum.

Both men were taken to Wayne Hospital by Greenville Twp. Fire Area Rescue, suffering from non life- threatening injuries.

An investigation into the accident continues, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office advises its harvest season and motorists should be aware of slow-moving farm equipment on roadways.
