WEST MILTON — Two Milton-Union schools Middle School teachers have resigned after students allegedly found them engaged in sexual conduct in a school classroom.
The teachers submitted their resignations Friday, May 29, after students said they witnessed the activity during school hours last week.
School Treasurer Chuck Klein said Friday, June 5, Denise Aselage and Raymond Ferrell, both teachers in the district for eight years, resigned. Their resignations were accepted this week by the Board of Education.
Klein said the two were accused of “inappropriate conduct on school property.” He said his understanding was the conduct reported was sexual and the two were seen by some students.
The investigation was conducted by Superintendent Ginny Rammel. She did not return telephone calls on Friday.
Board of Education President Jodi Minneman did not respond to calls regarding the resignations.
The Middle School teachers’ resignations were joined this week by high school language arts teacher Manuel Perez, 42, of Fletcher. He faces a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency or unruliness of a minor for alleged inappropriate text messages to a 17-year-old girl.
Allegations against Perez, who is a soccer coach, were investigated by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office following a complaint by the girl’s parents. Perez filed a denial of the charge Thursday in county Juvenile Court, where a pretrial hearing is scheduled for July.
Perez’ resignation was accepted Friday by the school board in a special meeting.
