VANDALIA — South Tionda at Mossview Drive is now open after having been shut down for a couple of hours while Vandalia firefighters cleared a fire scene in the 500 block of South Tionda.

Firefighters were called to the 500 block of South Tionda sometime around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of smoke coming from a structure. The focus of the fire seemed to be in the basement of the structure, according to police and fire scanner traffic.

The fire was put out before 6:45 a.m., according to scanner traffic. No injuries had been reported as of that time.
