Where and when are H1N1 vaccinations in your county

The H1N1 flu vaccine is becoming more widely available in the Dayton region.

Health departments in Montgomery, Greene, Miami and Warren counties will hold clinics this week to distribute immunizations in injection and FluMist nasal spray forms.

The immunizations are free.

Below are currently scheduled clinics. Future clinics could be scheduled with as little as 24 hours notice, so check with your health department via phone or Web site to get more information. Currently, only Miami County has clinics scheduled for the general population.

GREENE

The H1N1 vaccine will be available at a clinic Thursday, Oct 29, from 2-7 p.m. to the priority groups, including:

Everyone age 6 months to 24 years old.

Pregnant women.

People age 25-64 years with chronic health conditions or who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months of age.

Health care and emergency medical services personnel.

The clinic will be at the Fairgrounds; 120 Fairground Road, Xenia; the Assembly Hall. There is no charge for the H1N1 vaccine.

The health department has distributed 170 doses of vaccine via nasal spray vaccine and 525 through injections.

MONTGOMERY

On Thursday, Oct. 29, a clinic targeted only for pregnant women and children age 6 months through 4 years will be held at Hara Arena in Trotwood from 3-7 p.m.

Public Health — Dayton & Montgomery County has about 14,000 doses set aside for school clinics, and 4,000 to 5,000 for public clinics.

WARREN

Warren County has received 4,200 doses of vaccine and distributed about 3,000. Of those, 1,300 were shots and 1,700 doses of FluMist vaccine.

MIAMI

Miami County has been innoculating the targeted groups, but will soon start public clinics for all county residents at the former Steve and Barry’s store at the Miami Valley Centre Mall in Piqua.

The schedule is:

Monday, Nov. 2, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1-7 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 8, 2-6 p.m.

Every Monday until Dec. 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Every Tuesday until Dec. 29 from 1-7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The schedule is tentative. For example, if there are no doses left after the Monday, Nov. 2, clinic, the Tuesday, Nov. 3, clinic will be canceled.
