DAYTON — When police officers arrived at 11:45 p.m. Sunday night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, they found a woman bleeding from a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to the 53-year-old victim, she had been sitting in her van listening to music in the 600 block of East Sixth Street when she was approached by two young men. One of the men, armed, told her, “Give me all you got,” she told police. The woman said she reached for her purse and was shot. The two young men then fled
She told police she drove her van to hotel at 33 E. Fifth St. to seek help.
She was unable to give much of a description of the two men, but she did say one of the weapons was silver colored and other copper colored. She told police she would, however, be able to identify the two men if she could hear their voices again.
She was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where doctors discovered the bullet, entering the left side of her breast and exiting the right side, did not strike any vital organs. She was released from the hospital and taken back to her van. Police recovered a shell casing and a spent bullet from inside the van.
