XENIA — Police have identified the shooting victim whose body was found Monday morning in Lexington Park, east of downtown Xenia.
Robert N. Moore of Xenia, 45, died from a single gunshot to the head, according to Xenia police Capt. Scott Anger.
Moore’s body was found by a neighbor in the parking lot. His body was there for several hours before it was found, according to police. Anger said Moore’s body was identified through the crime lab using fingerprints.
Moore had a long list of police and court involvement dating back to 1985.
He was involved in criminal prosecutions in both Greene County Common Pleas Court and Xenia Municipal Court for offenses such as receiving stolen property, carrying a concealed weapon, passing bad checks, possession of a controlled substance, felonious assault, failure to report to a probation officer and domestic violence.
Moore spent time in prison for parole violation.
Lexington Park is at the end of Church Street, near the city limits.
Formerly the site of basketball and softball games, the park is no longer used much, Anger said.
Anyone with information about what may have happened or anything pertaining to Moore in the past couple of days is asked to call Xenia police at (937) 372-9901.
