Zombies to walk on Wright State campus

FAIRBORN — A bunch of zombies will be on Wright State University’s campus this weekend, and it’s not even zombie season yet.

That usually happens around finals week.

Still, you can ignore all the screaming, running around and talk of “must eat brains” and such. It’s just a group of actors in costume filming portions of Revelation, a 25-minute zombie flick produced and directed by former Wright State student Will Graver.

“It’s a small-scale project but we’ve got a lot of talent on board,” Graver said Friday, Aug. 21. “Most are Columbus-based actors but a lot of the crew are Wright State grads.”

Wright State notified students, staff and neighbors this week about the project to avoid any unnecessary fears.

“We’ll have a staff member with them at all times,” university spokeswoman Stephanie Ely said. “We’re working with the campus police department and we’ve notified the campus community so they’re aware of unusual activity.”

Filming will run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in various locations, with signs posted to clue in the public.

“I went to Wright State for three years, and there’s something about that campus,” said Graver, 28, a Bellefontaine native who calls Columbus home today. “The tunnels are great. They were just asking for a movie.”

For liability reasons, all sets are closed to the public.

Graver, who finished his degree at Bowling Green University, hopes to premier the film this fall in Columbus and Dayton. Details about his film can be found at www.revelationzombie.com.

Wow. Just wow. I'm always up for a political diatribe, but I didn't expect to find one here. Just wanted to say it was a pleasure working with everyone yesterday. Special thanks to the two ladies who assisted Alycia and myself with makeup. Couldn't have done it without you!

NAW...just watch out for the Black Panther's with weapons...I mean the ACORN volunteers. Wouldn't want to inhibit anyone's freedom of speech or expression...unless they are not liberal's and hate fascism. Wonder what would happen if Ohio was a conservative state. Suppression of different political views seems to be a very LIBERAL characteristic....and always has been. Talk about mobs. Some of us still remember the "PEACE NOW" advocates in Chicago in 1968.
