5 delicious festivals you won’t want to miss at Jungle Jim’s

Jungle Jim’s International Market’s Junglefests aren’t your average social gatherings. Festivals throughout the year focus on beer, cheese, wine, bacon, wellness and fiery foods, all designed to provide a great time while enjoying one’s favorite food or beverage — or both.

Here are five upcoming festivals at the popular grocery store’s Fairfield location at 5440 E. Dixie Highway.

Whiskey Fest

This Prohibition-style party from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday encourages you to don your pinstripes and top hats as you sample premium whiskeys and bourbons.

Also featured are Whiskey 101 classes, food, live music and cigars. A non-drinker option is also available, with access to complimentary coffee, tea and soda.

International Craft Beer Festival

Tickets go on sale Monday for Jungle Jim's annual International Craft Beer Festival, featuring more than 400 beers from more than 100 different breweries.

Guests of the event, which takes place June 16 and June 17, will have the opportunity to sample imported and local beers, along with craft brews and hard cider. The event features brewery exclusives, rarities and obscurities, and highly-rated favorites available exclusively to members of the Jungle Jim’s Brew Crew.

Admission includes a picnic-style meal of a barbecue beef sandwich, potato chips, coleslaw or potato salad, and bottled water.

Tickets are $45 (general) and $20 (non-drinker) with the general ticket prices increasing to $55 on June 1.

Buckeye Beer Bash (August)

Celebrate the Buckeye State and its brewers with a night full of some of the best Ohio breweries, all under one roof. The event features dozens of beers to sample from breweries around the state, plus live music and local food trucks.

BBQ & Grilling Festival (August)

Th3 second annual installment of this barbecue festival celebrates summer’s end with a day devoted to the delicious world of smoked meats, saucy eats and cold drinks. Experts will be on hand to talk barbecue and show the ways of spice, rub and sauce.

Weekend of Fire (October) 

More than 55 vendors from all over the nation and more than 350 samples are featured during this wild-and-hot Fiery Food Expo, along with food, fun and spicy-food-eating contests. Guests get to try out hot sauces, salsas, relishes, barbecue sauces, rubs and other products that range from mild to wild.

Every hour on the hour, the Arena of Fire finds competitors vying for victory by attempting to eat some of the hottest items from the show.
