Dayton reschedules election day school board meeting, among others

Dayton’s school board has rescheduled multiple meetings that were planned for October and early-to-mid November.

The previously scheduled strategic planning meeting of Nov. 7 and board review session of Nov. 14 will now both be held on Monday, Oct. 30. The strategic session will begin at 5:30 p.m. that day and will be followed immediately by the review session.

School board President Robert Walker cited hectic November schedules as the reason for consolidating the meetings, district spokeswoman Marsha Bonhart said. Switching the Nov. 7 meeting also avoids a conflict with election day, when Dayton Public Schools voters will decide who to elect to four of the seven seats on the school board.

Two school board committee meetings, which involve only part of the board, were also rescheduled. The finance committee, which had postponed its Oct. 18 meeting, will now meet Oct. 30 at 4:30 p.m. And the policy committee, which was scheduled to meet Nov. 14, will now meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31.

All of these meetings will be held at district headquarters, 115 S. Ludlow St. in downtown Dayton.
