KETTERING — Councilman Frank Spolrich may have served his last term on Kettering City Council, according to unofficial results from the Montgomery County Board of Elections.

With all of the city’s 61 precincts reporting, Spolrich, a retired educator, trailed incumbent Councilwoman Amy Schrimpf and newcomer Ashley Webb, a corporate logistics manager for CDC Distributors.

Schrimpf had 7,057 votes, Webb had 5,777, and Spolrich had 4,155. Results were unavailable for two precincts in Greene County.

Schrimpf, a former Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce executive, was appointed to the council in December after Peggy Lehner was elected to the state Legislature.

“I am just thrilled,” said Schrimpf, adding she will continue to work hard on behalf of the citizens “to make sure that Kettering remains the best city in the region.”

Spolrich, 64, who will finish his fourth year on council in December, said, “It’s been my honor and privilege to have served the citizens of Kettering. I live in an excellent community and I will continue to serve them, the residents.”

Newcomers Ed Smith, an attorney, had 3,966 votes, Debbie Waker had 3,258, while Tim Allison had 985.
