MORAINE — Randy Daugherty appears to have beat out fellow write-in candidate Jacqueline Cole for the Moraine City Council seat in Ward 1.

The results were not posted Tuesday night by the Montgomery County Board of Elections because both were write-in candidates, but they were reported Wednesday morning.

The board listed the unofficial results as Daugherty winning, 74-15.

In August, the Moraine City Council had three potential candidates rejected by the board, leaving Ward 1 with two certified write-in candidates.

This was the only contested Moraine council race, with unopposed candidates Dana Bonfield, Kimberly Gail Misner and Jeanette Marcus each being elected in wards 2 through 4.
