DAYTON — Voters who want to cast ballots before Nov. 3 can vote in local boards of elections offices or by mail.
It is known as “absentee voting” even if done in the board office. An absentee application must be completed and voters must provide one of three forms of identification, the last four digits of their social security number, a driver’s license or a utility bill.
The application can be downloaded online at www.mcboe.org or can be obtained by calling (937) 225-5656.
It is too late to register to vote, but voters who moved and remain registered in another county can vote provisionally in their county of residence and then, once the new address is verified, their ballot will be counted, said Betty Smith, deputy director of the Montgomery County Board of Elections.
She said voters can cast absentee ballots at board offices through Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. Absentee ballot applications must be received by noon on Oct. 31.
