What’s on the ballot?

State issues

Issue 1: Whether to authorize the state to issue bonds to pay bonuses to veterans of the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

Issue 2: Whether to allow the state to create the Ohio livestock care standards board, to establish and implement standards of care for livestock and poultry in Ohio.

Issue 3: Whether to allow the state to put casinos in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo.

Levies

Miami Valley voters will decide more than 60 tax levies for the Dayton Metro Library, Five Rivers MetroParks and more than 10 school districts. School districts asking for additional money include Xenia, Trotwood, Sidney, Eaton and Cedar Cliff.

Beavercreek, Jefferson Twp., Springfield and Piqua school districts are asking voters to renew existing levies. Many other communities have levies on the ballot for fire, police, EMS, roads and other services.

Contested races

Voters in Dayton, Xenia, Fairborn, Clayton, Piqua, and West Milton have races for mayor. In Dayton, Mayor Rhine McLin is running for a third term against Southeast Priority Board President
Gary Leitzell.

I hope that the precinct 10 workers in Greene County received the update that the address on the State ID doesn't have to be current...I was turned away this morning until I could produce something with my current address...even though I voted at the same precinct in the last election and have been registered in Greene County for the past 8 years. Has anyone else had problems with mis-informed poll workers today? Sure, they are volunteers, but they should know what they are doing.

Jon, also, what the heck does an "Interrupter" do?
While Spanish ballet would be entertaining, I think it would be a distraction at the polls.

The democrats aren't the problem: stupid people are.

Jon, a person can have all the IDs listed plus 100 more, but if they are not REGISTERED to vote, they can't vote. Illegals cannot be registered. Don't believe it? Take all of your IDs to a precinct where you're not registered and try to cast a ballot. Good luck.
