Noted author Doug Borwick will come to town for the Culture Works 2013 Community Campaign for the Arts.
The author of “Building Communities, Not Audiences: The Future of Arts in the United States,” Borwick will speak at a public event at 8 a.m. Thursday, March 28, at the Loft Theatre, 126 N. Main St., Dayton.
Borwick’s premise is that established arts organizations — for both practical and moral reasons — need to be more deeply committed to their communities. The folks at Culture Works are hoping that all members of the arts community — artists, administrators, board members, patrons — will want to attend.
Admission is free, but space is limited. Anyone interested in attending can register on the Culture Works website, www.cultureworks.org, or call (937) 222-2787.
