Name: Albert Shepard (Better known as Blueprint).

Microphone fiend: The Columbus-based rapper performs at One Eyed Jacks, 2638 Colonel Glenn Hwy., in Fairborn at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23.

Embarrassment of riches: Blueprint’s new solo album, “Deleted Scenes,” was released this week. It features 15 of his favorite cuts from the more than 60 surplus songs left off his critically-acclaimed 2011 release, “Adventures in Counter-Culture.”

Repurposed tunes: “Many of the remaining songs were good — some very good — but weren’t chosen for the (last) album because their vibe or message didn’t fit the overall theme I was going for,” Blueprint said. “I soon realized that although these songs didn’t fit with what ‘Adventures in Counter-Culture’ ultimately turned into, they still played a significant role in telling my story. After revisiting many of these songs, I came to the conclusion that the best of them should be heard by the people who support me to the fullest.”

Crew days: The underground emcee and founder of Weightless Records first gained attention as part of Columbus-based hip-hop act Greenhouse Effect. The crew’s releases include “The Up to Speed EP” (1999), “Life Sentences” (2003) and “Columbus or Bust” (2005).

Lone rapper: Blueprint released his first solo album, “The Weightroom,” in 2003. He released “Chamber Music” and “The Vitamins and Minerals EP” in 2004. His breakthrough solo album, “1988,” followed in 2005 and is regarded by many as one of the best unsung rap albums of the decade.
