First Student school bus involved in Dayton crash

UPDATE @ 9:05 a.m.

A bus full of middle school students was involved in a crash this morning that sent one driver to the hospital.

Police said the bus, a service provided by First Student for the Horizon Science Academy, was westbound on East Third when it sideswiped a Chrysler Pacifica.

The female driver of the Pacifica was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening.

No one on the bus was hurt. The students were off-loaded onto another bus and continued on to school.

Police said it wasn’t immediately clear who was at-fault.

First Student is the same bus service that was involved in previous bus crashes that got media attention while the company was under contract with Vandalia schools.
