First-time officeholder picked as president of Miami Twp. trustees

Miami Twp. trustees have picked a new leader.

John Morris has been selected by the three-member board of trustees as its new president. Morris won the most votes in a five-way race for two expiring seats in November in his first attempt at elected office.

Doug Barry, board vice president in 2017, will retain that position.

Morris and Donald Culp last fall defeated then-board President Andrew Papanek, Trustee Eric Flasher and challenger Zeb Music to win the four-year terms that pay about $20,000 a year.
