When the men saw the officer, they ran, three heading east and one running west. The officer pursued the one running west through the Westgate Shopping Center. The suspect ran into Domino’s Pizza, where he tried to remove his vest and stuff it under a table in an apparent attempt to change his appearance, according to a police report.
He was identified as Cameron Joseph Perez, 19, from Dallas, Texas. He is not a Miami University student but attends Saint Louis University and was spending the weekend in Oxford with several fellow fraternity members, according to police.

Eight flags were recovered and identified by stickers on the poles as belonging to the Oxford Rotary Club as part of its Stars & Stripes program.
The Stars & Stripes program places American flags outside homes and businesses on five national holidays, including Veterans Day. More than 600 homes or businesses in the Oxford area participate in the program that raises funds for organizations sponsored by the Oxford Rotary Club.
Perez was charged with theft and obstructing official business and taken to the Butler County Jail.
