Guns, ammunition, badges stolen from retired deputy police chief’s home

Guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition were stolen from the home of a former Moraine deputy police chief, records show.

Two badges were also taken from the home of Tracy Harpster, retired deputy chief of the Moraine Police Department, according to a report taken last month.

A Winchester rifle, two Colt .45s and “several thousands of rounds” of ammunition were reported stolen from Harpster’s home, according to the Moraine police report filed July 25. The weapons and ammunition were valued at more than $4,000, records show.

In addition, two lieutenant and two deputy chiefs badges were taken, records show.
