There even will be refreshments through the day, and fun for the kids, with free face painting and a bouncy house for them. Families do not need to have their taxes prepared to enjoy those activities, said Verlena Stewart, director of the community center.
“It’s just a free day where United Way has volunteer assistants come in,” Stewart said. “They are all certified in tax preparation.”
First Financial Bank partnered with United Way in offering the event. Life Span, an non-profit organization primarily focused on credit counseling, financial management and helping low-income people improve their financial status, will be there also. Someone from the city of Middletown will help people do their local taxes.
“While the parents are getting their taxes filled out, the kids can be upstairs with adult supervision and participate in some fun,” Stewart said.
