Italian restaurant opening at former Liberty Twp. pizza parlor

A new American Italian restaurant is coming to the former site of Bruno’s Pizza, at 6752 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, about a half-mile north of Ohio 129 in Liberty Twp.

Fireside Café hopes to open its doors in April, according to its owners.

"We are doing 100 percent everything (on the menu) from scratch," said Bruno Bas, a chef of 35 years, who left Kettering Grill & Café to start the new restaurant. "My other places, I don't have a freezer over there. Nothing is frozen."

Bas, who was born in Italy and raised in Turkey, said daily specials will be offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant, which will serve a mix of American and Italian cuisine.

Breakfast will include typical morning-meal fare, as well as variations on classics, such as Cinnamon Toast Crunch-encrusted french toast and M&M pancakes, said Lorenzo Bas, Bruno’s son and the restaurant’s general manager.

The lunch and dinner menu at Fireside Café will feature a wide variety of pizza and pasta dishes, sandwiches, steak, seafood, salads and wide variety of burgers, including deep-fried burgers and mac-n-cheese burgers.
