Legend will urge Ohioans to check their registrations and make a plan to vote early. As of Monday, 957,260 Ohioans have requested absentee ballots for the Nov. 8 election. This is slightly more than the 922,199 absentee ballots that had been requested by this point in the 2012 election when a record 1.87 million ballots were cast early by mail or in person.
Legend is no stranger to the campaign trail. In 2008, he sang with artist will.i.am in a music video, “Yes We Can,” for Barack Obama’s first presidential bid. In 2010, Legend performed on the Oval at Ohio State University before Obama spoke at a rally there and in 2012, Legend campaigned for Obama at the University of Toledo. His twitter feed, @JohnLegend, is peppered with anti-Trump and pro-Clinton tweets.
