Kettering shopping center to host grand reopening

A local shopping center in Kettering will celebrate its grand reopening, which includes the new addition of off-price retailer T.J. Maxx.

Town and Country Shopping Center announced it will host a reopening celebration on Sept. 14. The event will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new location of T.J. Maxx. at 3:30 p.m.

The 23,000-square-foot store, which offers brand-name and designer merchandise, opened its doors on Aug. 28. The store sells clothing, fashion, accessories, home goods and beauty products.

Town & Country went through months of renovations which included a new exterior look, fresh landscaping and improved parking. The 250,676-square-foot Town & Country shopping center is located on East Stroop Road, between Far Hills Avenue and Shroyer Road.

Existing tenant improvements include expanded stores for Trader Joes and Tuesday Morning, and interior renovations to Buffalo Wild Wings and First Watch.

The shopping center also announced two other new tenants: Chick-fil-A and PetCo.

Construction on Chick fil-A begins this fall and is expected to open in spring 2017. The 4,988-square-foot restaurant will seat 124 inside and will include a double drive-through windows, according to Kelly Casto, asset manager of CASTO, the Columbus-based real estate development firm that co-owns Town & Country.

Town and Country first announced the $7 million renovation project in 2014.
