Kings Island announces opening date for new roller coaster, 2020 season calendar

Coasters enthusiasts worldwide can start planning their first trips to Kings Island for the 2020 season.

The Warren County amusement park today released its entire spring/summer operating calendar, including opening day, which is set for Saturday, April 11.

That’s the day when the first public rides will be given for Orion, the tallest, fastest, longest steel coaster at the park under construction.

The announcement comes a day prior to the 364-acre park’s first job fair of 2020, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, when on-the-spot job offers will be made.

Job opportunities for more than 5,000 positions are available and associates needed in all areas of park operation. That includes admissions, call center, cash control, entertainment, finance, food and beverage, fire and safety, guest services, lifeguards, marketing internships, merchandise, rides, security, sweeps and warehouse.

Most of the park’s seasonal positions are available to applicants who are 16 years and older. A limited number of jobs require a minimum age of 15 years. Adults looking to supplement their income and retirees may apply as well.

Job opportunities for more than 5,000 positions are available and associates needed in all areas of park operation, according to Don Helbig, the park’s area manager, digital marketing.
