Liberty Twp. to discuss $10 million in building plans

Liberty Twp. trustees will discuss a new administration building during a work session today.

Trustees embarked on a facilities plan a year and a half ago and have already begun work, with the construction of a $360,000 addition to the township public works garage.

Early estimates of the plan — that includes the garage, administration building and a new fire station — are between $10 million and $11 million.

In the township where the population has quadrupled over the past two decades to around 40,000, and with future growth a certainty, trustees said they are trying to make long-term plans to right-size their facilities.

The trustees also plan today to discuss land use in the central business district.

The work session begins at 4 p.m. today in the Liberty Township Meeting Center, 6400 Princeton Road. The regularly scheduled trustees meeting will begin afterward, at 6 p.m.
