BEAVERCREEK —

The Greene will host its first Fashion’s Night Out event on Thursday, Sept. 6, as part of a global initiative highlighting fashion and supporting retail.

A fashion show will kick off the event at 5:45 p.m. in the Town Square at The Greene. Live music will be played until 10 p.m., and select stores will offer extended hours. Admission is free.

The event also will include special in-store events, sales and promotions; a beer garden; a Greene gift card promotion and shopping spree giveaway; and Fashion’s Night Out shirts and tote bags on sale. Emme, fashion model and previous host of “Fashion Emergency” on E!, will be the special guest and spokeswoman for the evening.

“We are so excited to be bringing Fashion’s Night Out to the Dayton area for the first time ever,” said Kelli Kooken, marketing director of The Greene. “The Greene has provided shopping and entertainment experiences for individuals and families since we opened in 2006, and this is another great event for our shoppers and visitors. Proceeds from the beer garden and the sale of FNO (Fashion’s Night Out) gear benefit AIDS Resource Center Ohio. Philanthropy is central to The Greene’s philosophy, and we’re very pleased to help support AIDS Resource Center Ohio.”

Fashion’s Night Out is a global initiative originally created in 2009 to “celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence and boost the industry’s economy during the recession,” according to event officials. Similar events will take place in cities throughout the world. The Greene plans to continue this event in 2013, Kooken said.

“The sales and promotions will be fantastic,” Kooken said of this year’s event at The Greene. “Visitors will have a chance to meet Emme. Visitors can support Dayton businesses and the community. The atmosphere will be exciting. Between the live music, the fashion show and the beer tent, people are in store for a great night.”
