Clark County custodian fired after student pill theft allegations

A custodian alleged to have stolen medication belonging to students at Reid School was terminated Friday.

Kevin Williams, 43, was arrested last week following an investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said he was caught on camera taking pills from the school’s medication storage area.

The Clark-Shawnee Local School Board of Education held a special meeting Friday morning to review details of the allegations, and decided unanimously to fire him, school leaders said.

Williams is the second Clark-Shawnee employee fired after allegations involving stolen student medications.

Clinical Aide Amy Baumgardner, 48, was indicted last week on a felony theft of drugs charge, also accused of stealing pills from students at Reid. The district has also fired her.
