Dayton Christian announces $6M expansion campaign

Dayton Christian School today announced a $6 million capital campaign to construct the first gymnasium in its 54-year history.

The campaign announced this morning aims to construct a 31,000 square foot facility at the private school located on Washington Church Road in Miami Twp.

The goal is to break ground on the Warrior Center at the school’s 45-acre campus this summer and open the facility in the fall of 2018, according to spokeswoman Julie Thompson.

Plans for the school, which houses 900 students in K-12, may include additional amenities – such as a wellness center – depending on how much money is raised during the campaign, Thompson said.

For years, the school’s athletes have had to travel up to 20 miles for home basketball and volleyball games, school officials have said.
