Residents can have their say on search for new school superintendent

The hiring of a new superintendent of West Carrollton schools is expected to be made in May, according documents related to the search.

The West Carrollton City School District Board of Education is targeting May 3 as the timeframe to vote on a successor for longtime Superintendent Rusty Clifford, a posting for the position indicates.

Clifford said he plans this summer to resign the post he has had since 1999. The district is holding a community forum Wednesday on the future of the position and has set a March 3 deadline for applications.

Wednesday’s session, set for 6 p.m. in the Guiler Auditorium of West Carrollton High School, is expected to focus on what characteristics residents of the school district want to see in the successor.
