School funding, taxes topic of discussion at upcoming panel

The League of Women Voters of Greater Dayton Program Committee will host a panel of speakers to discuss the issue of local tax dollars in education.

During the program, school board and government officials will discuss local levies, how taxes are distributed to each district, and how schools are affected by the current funding system.

The program will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Trotwood-Madison High School Auditorium, 4440 N. Union Rd. The panel will include AJ Wagner (previously State Board of Education) and Janice Allen (treasurer for Trotwood HS school board), and elected officials.

Parking is available in the high school parking lot. The event is free and open to the public. If you plan to attend, contact the League office at 937-228-4041.
