Miamisburg economic officials say incentive deals working, adding jobs

Miamisburg’s economic development incentives are bringing in more than twice the revenue for every dollar spent, according to the city.

City incentive packages the past two years have resulted in creating or retaining 442 jobs in Miamisburg with a payroll of $35.5 million, records show. The packages being offered by the city translate into a return of $2.40 to every $1 spent by the city, according to Miamisburg officials.

Companies included in figures for this year include Motoman and Evenflo, said Miamisburg Development Director Chris Fine.

The city this week is looking to continue that investment. Miamisburg is considering giving a West Carrollton company incentives to move 80 jobs with plans to 25 more.

The city plans to offer Production Design Services Inc. up to a $200,000 forgivable loan to move from Fame Road to a larger, yet-to-built facility off Byers Road, records show.
