Leaf collection coming

The City of Huber Heights Public Works Division will begin curbside leaf collection Nov. 6. Two rounds of collection are planned. Any remaining leaves after that time will need to be taken to the Yard Waste Site. For more information, visit the city website at www.hhoh.org.

Meeting on retire-rehire set

The Vandalia City Council will hold a public meeting Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. in council chambers in the Municipal Building, 333 James Bohanan Drive, to discuss the proposed retirement and retiring of Jon Crusey as city manager.

Arts, crafts sale here

The Country Workshop Artists of Troy will hold their 29th biennial Fine Arts & Fine Crafts Sale on Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Staunton Grange, 1530 N. Trivia night set

The Troy-Miami County Public Library will host The Walking Dead Trivia Night on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m. Participants are invited to help celebrate The Walking Dead and to dress as a favorite character while testing knowledge. Candidate night held

A Meet the Candidates event will be held Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Troy Junior High, 556 N. Adams St., featuring candidates for Concord Twp. trustees, Troy board of education and Troy City Council 2nd Ward. Information also will be presented on the Concord Twp. Trafalgar rezoning referendum, Miami County Park District Levy, and the Troy City Schools bond issue.

Not so scary party set

The Milton-Union Public Library will host a “Not So Scary” party on Oct. 19 from 6:30-8 p.m. The program will include a costume showing by participants and discussions about trick-or-treat safety tips, an interactive story and Halloween bingo with prizes. Haunted Woods returns

The Brukner Nature Center Haunted Woods returns Oct. 21 and 22 and Oct. 28 and 29 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The evening is kid friendly. Visitors are asked to bring flashlights. Cost: $5 for Brukner Nature Center members and $7 for non-members. Tickets are first-come, first-served. Gates open at 6 p.m. with groups leaving every five minutes starting at 6:30 p.m.
