Summer concert series continues

The 2017 Summer Concert Series, presented by the Centerville Arts Commission, continues with The Fries Band on July 30.

All concerts start at 7 p.m. at Stubbs Park Amphitheater, 255 W. Spring Valley Road.

All concerts are free, although donations are accepted. Concessions are available for purchase.

Throwback movie night set for July 28

Centerville Library, 111 W. Spring Valley Road, is hosting a throwback family movie night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 28.

This month’s movie is Robin Hood. Popcorn and snacks will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring bean bag chairs or pillows.

Booked for Lunch event set for Aug. 2

Booked for Lunch is a lunchtime book discussion group that focuses on historical topics. The next meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Smith House in Bill Yeck Park, 2230 E. Centerville Station Road.

Attendees may bring a brown bag lunch, and dessert will be provided.

Participants will discuss The Last Days of Night by Graham Moore.

Back to School Bingo set for July 27

Back to School Bingo will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. July 27 at the Lathrem Senior Center, 2900 Glengarry Drive.

Participants can play Bingo while enjoying an ice cream sundae. Prizes include back-to-school supplies.

The cost is $12 for Lathrem members, $15 for residents and $20 for nonresidents. The prices are for one grandparent and grandchild. Add $4 for each additional person.

Mobile art and nature available

Kaleidoscope: Art and Nature on Wheels will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 2 at Oak Creek Park, 2239 Berrycreek Drive.

This program is free for Kettering residents and geared toward children 7-10.

Registration is required, as is a pre- and post-camp survey.

Paws to Read event set at library

Paws to Read will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Aug. 5 at Wright Memorial Public Library, 1776 Far Hills Ave.

Elementary age children of all reading levels are welcome to read to therapy dogs.

Walkins are welcome, but two registered attendees are required for the program to be held.
