WEST CARROLLTON

Kids triathlon event set for Aug. 5

On Aug. 5 from 8:15-11 a.m. West Carrollton will hold its first Super Hero in Training Kids Triathlon event for children ages 4-11. The event will start at Wilson Park Pool, 1226 S. Elm St. and include a short cycling, running, and swimming contest. The course will be completed by age group, starting with ages 4-5, then 6-8, and finishing with 9-11. Register by July 26 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

The registration fee is $5 per child.

Job Fair takes place July 22

On July 22 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. West Carrollton will be hosting the West Carrollton Works job fair at the West Carrollton YMCA, 900 S. Alex Road. A wide variety of positions will be available from local employers such as: American Cutting Edge, Dayton Progress, Farmers & Merchants Bank, Ginko Systems, Insignia Display, Nuvasive, UPS, West Carrollton School District and Youthland Academy.

The Big Event Aug. 26

This year, the Big Event will take place Aug. 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at North Park.

Starting at 10 a.m., the Bike the ‘Boro event will allow bikers of all ages and skills the opportunity for a leisurely, or not so leisurely, bike ride throughout the entire city with a 3-mile family ride, 10-mile and 16-mile rides as well. The bike event will be followed by The ‘Boro Festival at 11 a.m. in North Park, with bounce houses, a climbing wall, a dunk tank to dunk police officers, Careflight, K-9 dog demonstrations, face painting and much more.

LEBANON

Red Hot Blues Run Aug. 5

On Aug. 5 the city of Lebanon will hold its 11th annual Red Hot Blues Run. The run starts at 7 p.m. downtown, in front of the Golden Lamb, and continues on the Lebanon-Countryside YMCA Trail. Participants can register for the 15k, 10k or 5k and kids’ run. Registration forms are also available at www.lebanonohio.gov. Registration is $30, and the Kids’ Run is free for kids, 12 and under. Early registration guarantees a T-shirt, and all registrations are welcome the day of the event. Proceeds from the run benefit local parks.
