Trotwood night at Philharmonic

On June 9 and 10, Trotwood Community Nights at the Dayton Philharmonic presents Women of Song.

Tickets are specially priced for the City of Trotwood at $12 each and are now available at the Trotwood Government Center 3035 Olive Road. 2nd Floor Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Residents encouraged to take Dayton Survey

The City of Dayton is mailing copies of the Dayton Survey to thousands of Dayton homes. Your response will help inform future city budgets, policies and priorities. Participation is anonymous, and a postage-paid envelope is included for returning the completed survey. If you don’t receive a mailed survey, you may complete the survey online starting June 16 at daytonsurvey.org.

City beautiful award accepting nominations

The Dayton City Beautiful Award is now accepting nominations. The award encourages and recognizes civic pride by acknowledging property owners/occupants who devote extra effort to property beautification and maintenance.

Properties must meet one or more of the following criteria: aesthetic appeal; landscaping (design, color, balance); architectural design and placement; landscape and building maintenance; treatment of parking areas; preservation of trees and natural amenities; awareness of ordinances and city codes; appropriate placement/design of new construction; use of paint to complement buildings; enhancement of overall appearance of the area; or removal of blight.

Milkweed for Monarchs May 29

On May 29 form 1-2:30 p.m. children ages 3-5 can learn all about the Monarch caterpillars favorite food, milkweed. The event will be held at Cox Arboretum MetroPark, 6733 Springboro Pike, Miamisburg and is part of the Conservation for Kids series.

Help feed Cox Arboretum’s hungry Monarch caterpillars by planting milkweed and other plants butterflies need while learning about their role as pollinators.

This event is $5 to participate and is weather dependent. Registration is required. To register go online at www.metroparks.org

RIVERSIDE

Bike Rodeo to be held June 10

On June 10 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. the City of Riverside Police Department and the Health and Safety Commission will be hosting a Bike Rodeo at Beverly Gardens Elementary School, 5555 Enright Ave. Bring your bike and try the rodeo course. There will be free bicycle helmets and blinker lights and bicycle giveaways. Helmets will only be provided to children who are present and have a helmet fitting on site. Hot dogs, chips, and drink will be available.
