Job, volunteer fair set for Feb. 24

A teen job and volunteer fair will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Centerville Library, 111 W. Spring Valley Road.

This drop-in program is geared toward students in ninth through 12th grade.

Visitors can get information and applications from local businesses, including the Town Hall Theatre, Centerville-Washington Park District, Goldfish Swim School, Country Club Landscaping, MCL Cafeteria, Graeters and Bethany Village.

Throwback movie night Feb. 23

Centerville Library, 111 W. Spring Valley Road, is hosting a throwback family movie night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 23.

This month’s movie is Cool Runnings. Popcorn and snacks will be provided. This movie is rated PG.

Participants are welcome to bring bean bag chairs or pillows. This is open to all age groups, and children younger than 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

KETTERING

Carnival Craze! to be held Feb. 24

Carnival Craze! will be held from 2-4 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Kettering Recreation Complex, 2900 Glengarry Drive.

Visitors can play carnival games, enjoy crazy cupcakes and listen to music. Crazy, colorful outfits are encouraged.

The cost is $7 for residents and $9 for nonresidents. Small prizes can be redeemed with tickets.

Drums Alive focuses on tweens

Drums Alive is a movement program using a motivating rhythmical drum.

This is geared toward kids ages 10 to 16.

Fitness balls, scarves, buckets and drumsticks will accompany classic, new age and pop beats for an energizing cardio routine.

This series will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays from Feb. 20 through March 27 at the Kettering Recreation Complex, 2900 Glengarry Drive.

No experience is needed and athletic shoes are required.

The cost is $20 for residents and $25 for nonresidents.

Pout Pout Fish party slated

Wright Memorial Public Library, 1776 Far Hills Ave., will host a Pout Pout Fish Party from 2-4 p.m. Feb. 17.

This family program is designed for preschoolers through third-grade students.

The event is drop-in with various stations for play and learning.

Next Chapter to meet Feb. 19

The Next Chapter book club will meet from 6-7 p.m. Feb. 19 at Wright Memorial Public Library, 1776 Far Hills Ave.

The book club is a community-based literacy program geared toward individuals with developmental disabilities.
