Teen passenger suffers injury in Miami Co. head-on crash

A 27-year-old Troy man went left of center on a curve on Ohio 718 east of Pleasant Hill this afternoon and crashed head-on into another car.

The passenger of the second car, 18-year-old Britney O’Burn of Pleasant Hill, was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital. She suffered a leg injury and had to be extricated from the wreckage, according to the Miami County Sheriff’s Office. Her mother, Esther O’Burn of Pleasant Hill, was driving the Chevrolet Impala but was not injured.

The at-fault driver of the Ford Fusion, identified as Logan Hall, is expected to be cited in the crash, deputies said.

FIRST REPORT

A passenger involved in a head-on crash today in Miami County was extricated and flown to Miami Valley Hospital.

Crews from Pleasant Hill and Troy responded to the crash at Ohio 718 and Greenlee Road east of Pleasant Hill.

A Miami County sheriff’s official tells us a Ford Fusion was speeding when it approached a curve and went across the median, striking a Chevy Impala approaching from the other direction.

The vehicles collided head-on. The driver in the Fusion suffered some minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Impala was not hurt, but the passenger in that vehicle was entrapped in the wreckage. Firefighters used equipment to extricate the victim, who suffered a serious leg injury and was taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
