City plants trees for campaign

The city of Centerville invites the community to attend a celebration of Arbor Day with a ceremonial tree planting at 10 a.m. April 16 at the Veterans Memorial in Stubbs Park.

The Centerville Council will be joined by area third grade students in planting nine cherry trees to support the Operation 1,000 Cherry Tree campaign that commemorates the 2011 tsunami in Japan.

Stubbs Park is located at 255 W. Valley Spring Road. For more information about the event, visit the city’s website at www.centervilleohio.gov. MEREDITH WHELCHEL
