Construction knocks out service to city phone lines in Beavercreek

Construction activity on Dayton-Xenia Road has damaged telephone lines, knocking out service to Beavercreek City Hall and other city departments, including emergency 9-1-1 services, according to Beavercreek police.

Emergency calls are being routed to the Greene County dispatch center, according to police.

Police said non-emergency lines are limited and other non-essential phone lines are out.

The city is “assessing the extent of the damage and the duration of the outage,” according to Beavercreek police.

City Manager Pete Landrum said they are working with AT&T to restore phone service. The extent of the outage was not immediately clear, he said, adding that all city lines were impacted because the service is provided on one network.
