Covington teen pleads in adult court to Piqua robbery

A Covington teen pleaded guilty Friday to five felony counts of robbery with firearm specifications in a Piqua robbery police said stemmed from a dispute over money.

Christian Triplett, 17, was accused of possessing a firearm in an Oct. 8 incident in Piqua. The police report said the robbery took place after one man accused Triplett of stealing $100 from his wallet. One of the robbery victims was injured when he fell and hit his head.

The case was filed in Miami County Juvenile Court before being transferred to the adult court.

Triplett's pleas were accepted by Judge Jeannine Pratt in Common Pleas Court. A presentence investigation was ordered with sentencing scheduled Jan. 23.

Triplett was being held in the West Central Juvenile Detention Center near Troy.
