Suspected intoxicated driver crashes into ODOT dump truck on 675

UPDATE @ 8:22 a.m. (Feb. 17):

A male driver was arrested after he crashed his SUV into an Ohio Department of Transportation dump truck on I-675 this morning.

The driver of the SUV is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs at the time of the crash, which was reported around the Alex-Bell Road exit of northbound I-675, deputies said.

The male driver’s passenger was a female and she was transported to Kettering Medical Center with injuries not believed to be life threatening, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies said the man was driving in the center lane of the highway and abruptly changed lanes causing the crash with the ODOT vehicle, which was in the process of performing highway maintenance.

The driver of the ODOT vehicle was uninjured.

INITIAL REPORT:

A crash has been reported on northbound I-675 in Washington Twp.

The crash was reported near mile marker 4 around 2:20 a.m. Initial reports indicate there are injuries.

An ODOT truck may be involved.
