Crayons to Classrooms to celebrate grand reopening in Dayton

DAYTON — Dayton’s Crayons to Classrooms (DC2C) is celebrating the grand reopening of its teachers’ free store at 1750 Woodman Drive on Friday, March 31, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with the ribbon cutting taking place around 11 a.m.

The ceremony will feature remarks by Executive Director Steve Rubenstein and Board Vice Chairman Kim Duncan. Invited speakers include Dave Smith, executive director, Kids In Need Foundation; Kathy Rearick, vice president of Development, Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley; and Kristin Linz, teacher, Belmont High School.

Some important features include a new storefront that provides improved entry and egress for teachers and customers, improved warehousing operations that provide increased inventory storage capacity and a new dedicated work area for volunteers.

“Our new store helps create the type of experience that each teacher and volunteer deserves when they visit Crayons to Classrooms,” said Rubenstein. “This is an example of how we are continuously improving our operations so we can provide more school supplies to teachers and for the students most in need.”
