Dayton Metro Library to build new $9 million branch at Wright factory

The Dayton Metro Library will announce that it is constructing a new branch on the site of the historic Wright Company on West Third Street just east of Abbey Avenue.

The cost for the new branch is around $9 million. That’s according to Tony Sculimbrene, the Executive Director of the National Aviation Heritage Alliance.

Tony Sculimbrene, during a tour of the historic site Thursday, told attendees that the official announcement was imminent.

The National Aviation Heritage Alliance (NAHA) and Dayton Metro Library (DML) will hold a press conference at 1:30 p.m. today to provide details on the project. Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley will also speak.
