Body found in Great Miami River identified as Dayton man

UPDATE @ 9:24 a.m. (12/09/17): The body found in the Great Miami River Friday afternoon has been identified as Samuel Logan, 59, of Dayton.

His cause of death is undetermined at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for later today, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s office.

UPDATE @ 1:40 p.m. 

A dead body found in the Great Miami River by the Monument Street bridge in Dayton is being investigated as a suicide, according to investigators on the scene.

An investigation is underway after a dead body was found in the Great Miami River in Dayton Friday afternoon.

A water rescue response was requested to the area of West Riverview Avenue and Monument Avenue around 12:45 p.m. Friday.

A Dayton police supervisor told our crew a dead body was found in the river, but additional details were not available.
