3 accused in Harrison Twp. kidnapping case headed to court this week

Three people accused of forcing a woman at gunpoint to withdraw money from her bank have been indicted in Montgomery County.

  • Jaron Hayes, 19, and Randall Williams, 25, remain jailed on several felonies that include kidnapping, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.
  • Daviana North, 19, is charged with receiving stolen property and a firearms violation.
  • The three are accused of targeting the elderly, kidnapping and threatening them, according to sheriff's detectives.

Jeron Hayes, Randall Williams and Daviana North have been indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury. They are to be arraigned Thursday.

Randall Williams is now formally charged on multiple counts of kidnapping (three), aggravated burglary (two), aggravated robbery (two), safe cracking, receiving stolen property, ethic intimidation and weapons possession as a felon, according to the county prosecutor’s office.

Daviana North is now formally charged on single counts of receiving stolen property and improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle.

Jaron Hayes is now formally charged on multiple counts of kidnapping (three), aggravated burglary (two), aggravated robbery (two), safe cracking and weapons under disability.

“We want to let citizens know they can be more relieved knowing now these dangerous people were taken off the streets,” Sheriff Phil Plummer said. “This is just embarrassing that these folks would treat our elderly the way they did.”

Court hearings for Hayes, Williams and North are scheduled for Jan. 30. Hayes was taken into custody earlier this week after North and Williams were arrested the day after the Jan. 20 incident.

Williams is being held at the Montgomery County jail on a $750,000 bond. He's detained on several felonies including kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, weapons possession as a felon, theft and several probation violations.

North is detained on a $750,000 bond on a charge of felony receiving stolen property.

Deputies were called around 5 a.m. to a home off Philadelphia Drive in Harrison Twp. after a resident said she had been abducted outside her home about 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 20.

The victim reported she was then forced back inside her house at gunpoint. She was taken to and from the residence several times to make withdrawals from her bank account, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies searched Hayes’ home, in the 400 block of Elm Hill Drive in Harrison Twp., and seized items believed to be stolen and evidence in the aggravated burglary case, according to the sheriff’s office.

Also found was an iPhone detectives believe was stolen. It had charge but no service to identify the owner. Anyone who recognizes the screen saver and can identify whether it was stolen is urged to call the sheriff’s office, 937-225-4357.
