MORE: Election 2017: Huber Heights mayor and city council results
Issues 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 — all changes to the city’s charter — passed the muster of voters, most with sizable margins. Issues 7 and 11 failed.
Issues 4 and 10 changed the way public officials in the city are removed from office. Issue 5 changed the requirement for posting ordinances in the city. Issue 6 changed requirements for the mayor to return vetoes to council. Issue 9 clarified the city does not have authority over the Bethel School District.

Issue 8, which removes the requirement that the Director of Public Safety be charged with enforcing weights and measures laws, narrowly passed 50-49 percent.
Issue 7 — a proposal to revoke the requirement that the city manager live in the city — failed 60-40 percent. Had the measure passed, the city’s charter would have been brought in line with state law banning residency requirements.
Also failing 59-40 percent was Issue 11 — a proposal to change citizen referendums.
Additional liquor licenses will be available in Huber Heights with voters approving a local option establishing a community entertainment district at The Heights. The option passed 63-36 percent. Officials hope the project near Rose Music Center will become a bustling mecca of restaurants, hotels and retail stores.
