How to help: Call the center at (937) 848-3810 to sign up. Leave a message on the answering machine if Lopez is not in. Donors will be matched with families or children in need who qualify by income and present a wish list of items needed. Usually the center asks that four gifts per child and one family gift be provided, along with a food card for a meal.
Time frame: Families can be adopted as early as November and as late as the first week in December. Gifts need to be brought to the center at 51 S. East St., Bellbrook, about a week and a half before Christmas.
The center also houses the ministerial food pantry, which currently needs toilet paper, pasta and pasta sauce, and shampoo, Lopez said.
Monetary contributions can be made by check, payable to Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Family Resource Center and sent to 51 S. East St., Bellbrook, Ohio, 45305.
