Farmersville-West Carrollton Road widening to disrupt traffic

The widening of a strip of Farmersville-West Carrollton Road is expected to slow traffic on one of West Carrollton’s main corridors.

The project will go from just east of Infirmary Road to Upper River Road – about one third of a mile – but the city expects “significant traffic disruption” after work is expected to start in March and possibly run through October.

The shoulders of the road, which handles about 6,000 vehicles a day, will be widened to accommodate cyclists and pedestrians, according to the city.
